Rudranath temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is the fourth temple to visit in the circuit of Panch Kedar pilgrimage. It is one of the most strenuous treks to commence in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. The temple is nestled amidst the rhododendron forests and the lush alpine meadows. The trek to Rudranath begins from Sagar village, Helang or Urgam village. Rudranath temple is one among the Panch Kedars. From here, one can see the gorgeous Himalayan peaks of Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nanda Ghunti.

How To Reach Rudranath

There are three routes to reach Rudranath 

  • Via Helang – Kalpeshwar – Durnak – Rudranath
  • Via Sagar – Leuti Bugyal – Panar – Rudaranath
  • Via Mandal – Anusuiya Devi – Noala Pass – Rudranath

Nearest Airport –  Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun, located about 25 km from the city. There is a daily flight from Delhi to Dehradun, which take around an hour to reach the city

Nearest Railway Station – Rishikesh Railway station. You can take the overnight train to Dehradun from Delhi.

There is regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun, from Delhi’s ISBT Kashmere Gate. 

Rudranath is located on Gopeshwar-Kedarnath Road. There are Buses and Taxis available From Dehradun to Rudranath Base Camp.
